A few minutes with

Ron McGehee

Ron McGehee is the world's funniest "Half Korean, Half Irish" comedian, yep a dime a dozen. Ron was a finalist on the NBC's Last Comic Standing 2. Ron is also a writer and has written for a The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The Carson Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Spec scripts for Scrubs and My Name Is Earl.

Along with furthering his comedy, writing and acting career he has produced The Family Comedy Countdown, a national syndicated radio program. He is also producing his own clean comedy Non Toxic Comedy show at top venues throughout the United States.

Ron is married to comedienne, Kerri Pomarolli and when time allows the husband and wife team up touring the country performing their unique brand of "He Said, She Said" comedy. Please welcome Ron McGehee to the cruise blog!!

Ron, you’ve done the GGA cruise before – can you tell me what it’s like being on a ship with all women?
It’s really interesting. I was on the cruise in 2006 and when they did the whole drill with the life jackets, they announced women and children first. I thought ….. well….hmmm.... let's see there are how many men on this ship?

What was your favorite part of the last cruise?
Just interacting with all the people. Everyone was really cool, polite and nice. They would come up and talk, but they let us have a great time, too.

One night I was walking by the casino and the workers were all just standing around. I went in, I felt sorry for them. I said “I bet you don’t like this group.” And the casino workers told me how much they loved this cruise because the people area all nice and there aren’t any fights break out in the casinos.
(note to all of us on the cruise blog – no fights J)

Ron, if you had a choice – all men in the audience or all women in the audience, which one would you choose?

All women, no doubt about it. There are just there to have fun. Guys are different. They’ll laugh, but it’s contained. Women they just laugh out loud

This cruise group is so fun and such a great audience. They’re very open and interactive.

What’s on the horizon for Ron McGehee?
I’m working on so much. Working on TV and film writing projects. I’m producing Non Toxic Comedy for Improv Comedy Club. It’s clean comedy. (Mary Note: This has been so successful that Ron is working on Non Toxic Comedy 3)

Also we’re involved in Hollywood on Fire – great project. Take a look at www.Hollywoodonfire.com

What is it like living in a home with two comedians?
There’s a lot of laughter in our home. Kerri just makes me laugh. We used to disagree over who’s funnier, but not we have Lucy (Ron and Kerri’s ten month old little one) and she’s the voter.

Ron, tell us one thing about you that most people don’t know and wouldn’t guess?
I’m very shy one on one. I’m outgoing when I’m performing, but I’m a little introverted off stage.

Take a look at funny Ron on stage -- well sort of on stage and then not on stage and then back on stage. Just watch and you'll understand.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ron on the cruise!
