We are so thrilled to have Donna Gaines sailing with us this year. Now, maybe you don't know Donna, but you are going to just love her!
GGA Blogger Mary: Donna, tell us a little about yourself? Who is Donna Gaines?
Donna: I am a wife and mother of four and grandmother of three. My husband is a pastor and I love the local church. I have been teaching and writing Bible studies for over 20 years and love to see women get excited about knowing Christ personally and then sharing Him with others.
Mary: Twenty years! Whoa -- that's a while. What keeps you going?
Donna: I desire to teach God’s Word in such a way that it comes alive for the hearers who then desire to know God’s Word and live it out!
I desire to take part in fulfilling the Great Commission!
Mary: Seems you have a heart for ministry. What area of ministry calls you most?
Donna: I am called to women’s ministry. I love women – they are the heart of the home. I enjoy teaching them in America and around the world – we are really the same everywhere.
Mary: What are you looking forward to on the Girl's Get A Way cruise?
Donna: I am looking forward to spending some special time with our youngest daughter, Bethany, who will be a freshman in college.
Mary: How wonderful!! I'm hoping to bring my youngest, too! Paige will be freshman at Mississippi State.
Mary: What do you hope women walk away from your session with?
Donna: I hope they leave with a greater desire to know God intimately through His Word and a sense of responsibility and urgency to be about Kingdom business. We are living at the “End of the Story” and we must not waste our time on things that do not matter!!
Mary: Donna thank you so much for your time and for your heart to serve women. We are all so excited about hearing your speak!
And now, the just for fun stuff: Okay, "would you rather time." Respond to each with your choice, then give a brief explanation.
Would you rather:
1. Eat fried chicken or a burger?
They are both great picnic foods – but I would probably choose fried chicken – I am a true southern girl!
2. Fancy restaurant or hole in the wall?
Fancy restaurant – I do enjoy ambiance.
3. Sweet tea or unsweetened?
Sweet tea – see question 1.
4. Elvis, Paul McCartney, or Jon Bon Jovi?
Elvis – I am a Memphian.
5. Beach or snow skiing?
Now that is a tough one!! I love them both – the beach would probably win out.
6. Chocolate pie or chocolate cake?
Anything chocolate is always at the top of the list. Just don’t get between me and my chocolate!
7. Power to read minds or the power to stop time?
Stop time – I would freeze my children and grandchildren and enjoy uninterrupted time with them.
8. Eat a cup of worms or a cup of spiders?
Definitely worms – I hate spiders!!! Besides, worms would go down easier.

It will be great to meet you! I was especially excited when I read that your daughters will be joining you. I am bringing my daughter, who is our oldest, along on our first ever girls get away period. She will be a junior in high school and I was afraid she may not encounter anyone her age.
Keep up the good work!
